The Goliath Crane, also referred to as the Gantry Crane or Portal Crane, is an extended design of the EOT Crane where the crane moves on rails mounted at floor level instead of rails placed at an elevated level with the help of its own legs (supports). This eliminates the need for the building structure and hence the capital cost. Goliath cranes are majorly used in outdoor applications as they do not require any building structures. However, these can also be installed inside a closed building.
